Vincent Van Gogh, Encrypted: Curatorial Description

Vincent Van Gogh, Encrypted is a bold reimagining of Van Gogh, where his identity is fractured and distorted, lost in the chaos of the digital age. Instead of brushstrokes revealing his soul, this version of Van Gogh is concealed, encoded—hidden behind layers of abstraction, much like we hide behind screens, algorithms, and curated online personas.

This piece belongs to my crazy Van Gogh portrait series, a collection that began as a collaboration with Saatchi Art, where I was honored to be among the few artists selected globally to reinterpret Van Gogh through a modern lens. It’s a tribute to a visionary artist who was never truly seen in his time, now reimagined in an era where we see everything, yet understand so little.

My fascination with reinterpreting art icons has continued beyond this series. In recent years, I’ve explored works like Blue Nude by Henri Matisse, reinterpreted in "Drop a Like" and "Give Me a Match", as well as La Gioconda by Leonardo da Vinci, reimagined in "Gioconda Tondo" and "Mona Lisa Gioconda".

This painting is available for purchase and ships worldwide.

Collector from the Get-go

As someone who’s been lucky enough to gather a modest collection of Tirigall’s pieces, it’s a little tough seeing the prices climb. Don’t get me wrong, it’s good news for my collection’s value – I mean, one of my friends even tried to buy a piece off me! Can you believe it? But let’s be real, I’m not in it to sell. I’d love to score a few more before they’re completely out of my reach. How about a break, Diego? I promise I’ll be on the lookout for any discounts that come my way! Ha! All jokes aside, you must know how much I cherish your work, and I truly wish you nothing but success.

Commissions FAQ

The Commission Experience

1. How can I commission a custom artwork?

The process is simple: you send me a message with your idea, we discuss details and references, I create an initial sketch, and once approved, I begin the artwork. When it's ready, I'll send it to you carefully packaged. You can see the detailed process in the "How It Works" section.

2. Do I need to have a clear idea of what I want?

Not necessarily. You can give me a general reference, a feeling you want to convey, colors you like, or even just a keyword. I'll take care of turning it into a unique piece within my style.

3. Can I request a replica of one of your previous works?
I don't make exact copies, but I can create a new work inspired by a previous piece, maintaining the essence but with variations that make it unique.
4. How long does the creation process take?
It depends on the size and complexity of the work. Normally, between 1 and 2 months. This can vary depending on complexity, changes, revisions, etc.
5. Do you offer international shipping?

Yes, I ship worldwide. Delivery times vary between 4 and 8 business days depending on location. The artwork is packaged with high-protection materials to ensure it arrives in perfect condition.

6. How is payment made?

Payment is made in two parts:

  • 50% when starting the commission to reserve your artwork.
  • 50% upon completion of the piece, before shipping. I accept payments through PayPal, bank transfer, and other methods based on availability.
7. Can I return an artwork if I don't like the result?

Since it is a custom artwork, returns are not accepted. However, I make sure you are satisfied at each phase of the process, allowing you to provide feedback before finalizing the piece.

8. Do you create large format works for specific spaces?

Yes, I can work in large formats for spaces such as living rooms, offices, or commercial venues. If you have a specific space in mind, we can discuss dimensions and composition.

9. Can I see progress during the process?

Yes, I will send you updates at different stages so you can see how the artwork evolves and give your opinion before the final details.

10. Do you offer framing?

For now, all artworks are shipped unframed to facilitate transport and allow you to choose the frame that best suits your space. If you need a recommendation, I can guide you on which options work best.
