About “Rich Mum Poor Dad”

The Painting

This cool art for sale shows the female protagonist happily holding a serving tray with a man's head. The male head represents the father who coincidentally looks similar to Donald Trump. At the top of the painting behind the head is the word ROI in red letters. ROI means return on investment. The return on investment represents the investment in education parents make with their children throughout life from pre-school to college. Urban Style Art is the art style represented in this artwork.

The Meaning Behind the Painting

The inspiration for the painting Rich Mum Poor Dad originates from Robert Kiyosaki's book Rich Dad Poor Dad. The Spanish version Madre Rica, Padre Pobre makes a play on Kiyosaki's book, which deals with a theory that wealth equals financial independence. I take the wealth meaning and focus on the spiritual aspects of wealth rather than the financial aspects of wealth.

Materials Used

I rely on mixed media and the dripped technique to create this eye-popping artwork. The red, blue, and yellow dominate the painting with hints of white, pink, black, and light brown to add layers and depth. Outside media used in this painting are cardboard, canvas leftovers, and dry acrylic that forms the bracelet on her right hand.
