About “Portrait of a Conscious Man”
Portrait of a Conscious Man is a large modern painting with beautiful details resembling the Art Brut style blended with dripped techniques. I painted the canvas acrylic, spray, and enamel paint. The blotchy paint, the color palette, and the dripped technique make this a personal favorite of mine, especially the dripped paintings stemming from the face to the bottom of the canvas.
A large face is the main focus of the painting. Circles, squares, and rectangles dominate the mostly black and beige artwork. The painting represents a spontaneous moment and chaos. My personal favorites about this piece are the eyes and the spray dripping behind the triangle eyes. The dripping spray gives the painting depth and aids in the chaotic appeal. If you like the chaos appeal that the dripped technique offers, I like to recommend the work of Richard Hambleton or Jackson Pollock, two inspirations for this work.
