The Painting
The Courier Boy is a beautiful mixed media painting for sale. By looking at it, you will see my passion for art brut at first glance.
The artwork shows layered complexity with brilliant art materials, especially enamel and oil pastel on cardboard, but that’s not all I used.
Inspiration is in the air
The courier boy portrait is inspired by the courier boy who used to hand me packages ordered from Amazon. I drew a side profile version of him as the centerpiece of the artwork. I incorporated various packing materials into the contemporary canvas wall art such as the cardboard boxes and the Amazon labels.
Details, details
One detail of this painting I would like to highlight is the texts 'tnt,' 'mojo,' and 'ata boy.' Other details worth mentioning are the different hand sizes and shapes and the warm color palette dominated by red, orange, and yellow. These details make The Courier Boy painting stand apart from my other artworks. Secondary colors are neutral shades black and white and the cool color blue.
I can never seem to finish this painting. I always want to add something. Because of this, this painting was painted and re-painted several times, hence the layered complexity I mentioned earlier.
