About “Babel”

Is there a Frankenstein face?

Babel is a black and white dominated painting with hints of blue and yellow details scattered throughout the painting to give the artwork a pop. The street art for sale on canvas is a direct inspiration to Jean Michel Basquiat.

I always allow myself to paint whatever I feel, so, shockingly, this painting has so much going on. The painting is anything but boring. There a Frankenstein style face, the word 'Babel' in the center, and a text that says 'Destroy, Destroy.' Other expressions nearly lost in the welter of surface activity are 'future' and 'Vivir y Dejar Vivir,' meaning Live and Let Live. The expressions give the pattern a dramatic atmosphere.

In fact, words and expressions cover the painting. A few noticeable words on the painting are 'popcorn,' 'corruption,' and 'fraud.'

The process

In the large modern art painting, I play with the shapes appearing on the painting's surface. I paint enamel and acrylic with my fingers, treating my fingers to emulate paintbrushes. I don't reject abstraction; I embrace it.

With my paintings, I don't always take pictures of the work progress, but I made an exception.  For this painting, I did take a photo, and it was worth it.
