About “Lust Soup Preserves”
Introduction
I dedicate the classic Campbell can of Warhol to Tinder and Lust. I was able to merge the social network with the deadly sin in the same universe.
The classic Campbell can, the dating app Tinder, and the deadly sins Lust come together in this painting titled "Lust Soup Preserves." Tinder is about looking for potential mates to determine if they are worth dating, and sadly, appearance comes first. Lust represents sexual desire. Both pair up nicely.
The Design
To create the roughly drawn can, I used pink, red, and yellow color oil sticks, pastels, acrylics, and enamel paints. I incorporated papers from old books to produce a mixed media result. The paper's texture gives a dramatic effect to the painting.
