About “Cereal Girl”
Styles and techniques
The Cereal Girl painting draws inspiration from retro food and drink advertising posters from the 70s. The painting is a large contemporary art with drip painting techniques.
This modern art for sale is one of my favorite artworks. I played with different styles and techniques to achieve a chaotic environment full of layers and textures. For example, the fingers on the hands are drawn with well-defined imperfect strokes. I duplicate the same technique on the girl's face and in the base under the right arm.
Painted with brown acrylic, a taping knife construction tool exists as marks along the sides. This tool's purpose is to generate textures around her so she can express feelings.
Under the blonde girl is a milk basin. Next to her is a message saying 'Pinche milk, is she.' Clearly misspelled, the message is similar to the Spanish phrase 'Ella es la leche,' or the English term 'she rocks.'
One thing I found interesting about the neo-expressionist painting is the distorted perspectives seen in detail within the painting such as the vase or the brown table supporting the vase. Additional standouts in the painting are a diamond and the phrase ‘Ella es la Paz’ on top of a black background.
