How the Painting Came Together
The Vegan Society, an interesting large modern art painting, is a neo-expressionist style, a style I normally use on my artwork. As I was painting, I chose red oil sticks along with black, white, blue, green, and yellow colors. At the time of painting, I was not in a positive place so I painted how I felt. This was the result.
The Details
The painting represents conflicted feelings I have about the human being. I chose the classic shooting target silhouette as the main image of the painting. The silhouette is joined by a red line to an incomplete skull drawn with a red oil stick. Under the word 'no' is a half-blurred text that says 'Shooters Supply.' It is a reference to the arms market. The golden yellowish spray was meant to be illustrations representing good vibes by showing that not everything in the human being is bad. It didn't work out that way so I left it unoccupied intentionally. I wanted the space to remain authentic so I can reflect on it.
